Custom web app cost —
without the agency markup
User roles, real-time, integrations, admin panels — custom apps live or die in the details. The questionnaire surfaces the right details and gives you a CAD range that reflects what a focused build actually costs, not what an agency markup adds on top.
Common questions
What about ongoing development after launch?
We always offer a maintenance retainer — usually $1,500–$5,000/month depending on velocity. Most clients start without one and add it after the build, once they know what cadence of changes they actually need. The estimate here is the build only.
Web app vs mobile app — which is right for me?
Web app: faster to ship, easier to update, works everywhere a browser does, no app-store gatekeeping. Mobile (native or PWA): better for offline, deep notifications, hardware access (camera, biometrics, location). Most internal tools and B2B SaaS are better as web apps. The platform question in the questionnaire reflects the price difference (mobile is roughly 1.4× web alone).
How is custom different from building on a SaaS?
SaaS gets you 80% of common functionality on day 1 for $50–$500/month. Custom gets you 100% of YOUR functionality for a one-time build cost + ongoing hosting (~$50–$200/month). The break-even is usually 18–36 months: if you'll use it longer, custom wins on TCO. The build also avoids per-seat pricing as you grow.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes — we sign mutual NDAs before any technical scoping. Just include a note in the contact step and we'll send a standard one over before the discovery call.
Do you work with US-based clients?
Yes. Web app development isn't geo-bound, and Eastern timezone means we overlap a full US East Coast workday and most of the Pacific. CAD pricing typically saves US clients 25–30% versus comparable US-coastal shops. Project work is in English.
